[ Unfortunately, he's too busy being dead himself for a few days, or else he'd have responded right off the bat. As it is, there's the loud sound of the tablet clattering on the floor, followed by a sigh, and finally words. ]

Hey. Ventus, right? I saw your post from a few days ago. Yeah, the message is for Vanitas. I wasn't around when he got hurt- I don't think anyone was, unfortunately.

Don't worry too much about the whole thing, okay? Even though it's messed up, the Admin is pretty consistent about fixing bugs like this. Are you doing all right?

[ The clatter is worrying on itself, and Vanitas' name still fills him with unease. Like he knows there's something there and it's increasing with each day. It doesn't help that he's starting to suspect people haven't been completely forthcoming with him.

Hearing @godsend does make him feel a little better overall. Similar to finding out that @wiccandoit isn't so far away. ]

That's right. You can call me Ven. [ He knows it's easier, and it's what his friends call him. ] I think I'm all right. I mean, it's been weird and I'm still getting used to this. [ But enough about him! ] How are you doing? Everything okay?

It is a lot to take in. And I'm fine, just- well, I died, and now my hands aren't quite cooperating. Give it a few days and it'll be fine.

Where are you, right now? You traveling with anyone?

[ It bothers him to hear that. ]

I'm sorry. [ How weird is it to hear Vanitas say that? ] I'm still alone and over by the elementary school.

Are you close? Do you need some help? [ And that is some very obvious concern coming from him, too. ]

[ It is really weird to hear Vanitas say that, and even sound like he means it. ]

Okay, you should meet up with someone as soon as you can. I'm at the hospital right now, so we're not too far from each other. Can we meet up?

[ He adds a little hopefulness to the question, and then goes on to 'hastily' explain. It is embarrassing, but he more wants Ventus to feel like he'd be helping him out. Maybe that way he can keep hold of Vanitas when he comes back and not watch him disappear into the town for too long. ]

I mean, yeah, it'd probably be good to have some help with my bags and stuff. I can carry them, but- well, it's more that I can't feel anything so I'm having a rough time manipulate anything.

[ On the plus side, Ventus still actually trusts people? But he is also too trusting. ]

That's south from here, right? [ He says it without actually checking. ] Yeah, it wouldn't be a problem. [ Ventus knows he should try to help out for as long as he's here. And maybe Gabriel doesn't like being alone. ] Where do you want to meet?

Yeah, it's a couple days south. Maybe three. If you use the maintenance tunnels, I can meet you in there? But you don't need to come all the way to the ice caves, I wanted to head to the residential area anyway.

[ Ventus is not wrong that Gabriel doesn't like being alone- that might be more important than any of his rationalizations for meeting up. ]

I think I might be able to reach one of the houses that connect to maintenance tunnel soon. [ He thinks so at least. He needs to check the map. ]

So, we can probably see each other soon. [ There's a pause. ] Do you mind if I tell Billy? He seems worried about his friend. You know, Vanitas. [ His voice lowers at the end there. Almost like something might be wrong there. ]

[ Gabriel stifles a chuckle. ]

Sure, go ahead and tell Billy. Let him know you're meeting up with me, though- our last chat was a little awkward.

You sound a little surprised that Vanitas has people worried about him.

[ Just noting. ]

Okay, I will. [ He'll ask Billy about the awkward to make sure he's okay.

The question about Vanitas has him thinking though. ]

Hmm. I don't know how to explain it. It feels like something is wrong with it? I don't know if it's that people are worried or just the name itself. [ It feels like something bad may be connected to it. ]

Ah.

[ Yeah, that tells him what's going on, at least. ]

It's probably a little of both. This place is rough on our minds, especially when we first get here. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll get clearer after a few days.

[ So don't worry about it, not!Vanitas. ]

[ Everyone keeps saying don't worry, which just makes him worry even more. ]

Yeah, I guess. [ It sounds like he's sulking. He does seem to bounce back. ] Has it been rough on you?

Yeah, it's been pretty rough on me. But maybe that was what I needed- I wasn't exactly a great person back home.

This place- if nothing else, it's given me some perspective. It's pushed me to realize what's real, what I'm in control of, and what's important. Doesn't hurt that I've made some friends, too.
